Portland isn’t a city that I typically dream of vacationing, but my best friend was having her bachelorette party at Pacific City. So it seemed just right to stay in Portland for a few days considering we were traveling across the county, from Atlanta to Oregon!
The weather was perfect – gloomy just like the PNW is, but didn’t rain and the sun made a few peaks through the clouds! Not too mention, we had a great time exploring the city!
Whatever city I visit I always have to check out the Nordstrom – if you work there you’ll understand :)!
Here’s my first outfit for the weekend: jeans + booties + scarf! Staple piece for traveling anywhere in the PNW 🙂
You’ll always find me mixing high and low pieces. Additionally, I’m always searching for a good sale! Below I’ve attached the brands I’m wearing, but with this season’s product! (click the links to get more info + they are on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!!)
First stop was Voodoo Doughnut.
I KNOW SO BASIC! Justin and I had a great time speaking with the lady there and she was very helpful offering suggestions! If I lived in Portland I’m sure I would be OVER Voodoo Doughnuts, but it’s a great tourist attraction!
We also collect little treasure from everywhere we visit – so we got some silly/inappropriate stickers thanks to Voodoo Doughnuts 😉
We continued walking around the city & taking pictures with some of the fun sites! (We did our job to ‘Keep Portland Weird’!)
Justin & I are always about a good view so we decided to do Happy Hour at Portland City Grill! The restaurant is on the 30th floor with stunning views! We sat down at a window and we were able to see the city and then a view looking at the foothills of Mt. Hood National Forest!
The drinks were amazing, but I recommend to get there early for Happy Hour. It quickly filled up and the window seats are taken first!
We stayed at the Paramount Hotel in Portland and fell in love with the bar inside our hotel! It’s a Moonshine and Whiskey Bar called Swine and has an amazing atmosphere and awesome bartenders.
We always appreciate helpful bartenders especially at a place that has speciality cocktails! Not only did they help with our drinks, but they also suggested other places to visit! Plus, check out the view from our room (it’s like they knew!):
The next morning we went to Slappy Cakes & this was my favorite stop of the entire trip (thanks Bri for the suggestion!). It’s a DIY pancake house! It’s fun for adults, but kids also love it!
We choose what we wanted and then they brought the batter for us to make pancakes at our table, plus there’s tons of toppings to add on! There are plenty of food options besides pancakes too! I also got the Country Fried Steak and couldn’t finish it all!
Not only was the food amazing, but I found the best cocktail of the vacation here as well. the Lavender Fizz – champs + lemon zest + lavender syrup. It was refreshing but not too sweet for the morning! YUMMM!
We were lucky the weather was on our side while in Portland and we had a great time being tourists for a few days! We visited a few other places, but if you’re traveling to Portland the above places were our favorite!
Thanks for stopping by, share your favorite places to visit in Portland in the comments below! Who knows, maybe we’ll go back 😉
